A unique laser-information technology has been developed which enables remote biomodeling,
copying human skeleton fragments, and generation of individual models by the laser computer
stereolithography method using the input tomography data communicated via Internet from
various clinics.
A special mineral-polymer composition has been developed for the purpose of producing
biocompatible and bioactive implants having the structure similar to that of bone tissue.
Application of stereolithography in clinical practice will provide, in addition to virtual
models, real biomodels to be used in preparation for surgery, in fabrication and pre-operation
fitting of implants, which would reduce by several times the duration of surgical operations.
Biomodels have been applied in preparation and planning of more than 300 operations in more
than 10 clinics of Russia.
