Jointly with the small-scale industrial enterprises, the Institute is engaged in the
development and manufacture of a wide range of the industrial lasers of 0.5 to 10 kW
power for material processing; the laser machines for cutting, welding, and surface
treatment of metallic and nonmetallic materials; the computer-aided laser acoustic
systems for diagnostics of the defects in the materials; the laser stereolithography
plants (LS-120, LS-250, LS350/500).
The laser systems intended for cutting various structural and hard-to-process materials
(graphite, ceramics, minerals, special steels) perform cutting of the metallic (up to
15 mm thick) and nonmetallic (up to 60 mm thick) materials. The laser welding systems
offer welding of metals 0.1 to 10 mm in thickness at the speeds of 2 to 30 m/min,
featuring the fine mechanical characteristics and the high processing strength in the
absence of residual deformations.
The development of the prototypes of a system for the laser-plasma deposition of thin
films and nanostructures, and of a laser-information complex for the laser-induced
modification of cartilaginous tissues is at its closing stage.
The innovation industrial enterprises set up under and cooperating with ILIT RAS play a
vital part in bringing the developed products to the prototype level and producing the
small lots. This work was at different stages supported by RAS, the Russian Foundation
for Basic Research, the Ministry of Industry, Science and Technologies RF, the Government
of Moscow Region, the Foundation of Supporting Small-Scale Enterprises in Science and
Technology, as well as by a number of international foundations and European programs.
In the past 10 years more than 120 laser processing and laser-information systems of
all kinds have been produced and implemented in various industries and in medicine.
The medical, industrial and research systems manufactured at ILIT RAS are successfully
operated not only in Russia, but in Bulgaria, Great Britain, Germany, India, China, Korea,
Slovakia, USA, Czechia, and in a series of FSU countries as well.
