Industrial CO2 lasers of power up to 10 kW, produced at ILIT RAS, feature high
radiation quality, thus permitting welding of metals 0.1 to 10 mm thick at the rates
from 2 to 30 m/min.
The following technologies have also been devised:
- laser welding of aluminium, titanium, pipe steels, etc.;
- double-beam laser welding of steels and aluminium alloys with thickness to 12 mm;
- procedures of heat hardening and surfacing.
The obtained results and advanced technologies permit solution of the problems such as
suppression of near-surface plasma, choice of optimum conditions, "tailoring" materials
with specified properties
