General Information
IPLIT RAN (up to 1998 - Laser Research Center RAN) is
one of leading Russian institutes in the sphere of investigations and development
of lasers, equipment on their base and laser-information technologies.
The staff is 400 persons. IPLIT also incorporates the Moscow Regional Laser
Engineering Center (Lyubertsy). The Institute maintains close scientific
links and conducts joint work with leading universities and research centers
of the USA, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Poland, China.
MAIN FIELDS OF ACTIVITY
Industrial lasers, laser-computer systems and technologies for materials treatment
• development and fabrication of technological
CO2-lasers 0.5-15 kW in power with high optical quality of radiation
• technologies for laser treatment of materials and computerized laser
technological complexes with adaptive control systems for cutting, welding,
surface modification, labelling operations
• development of laser optoelectronic
systems for non-destructive diagnostics of materials' subsurface structures.
Laser-information technologies
• basic research in the field of creation of base elements and materials
for multiwave optical information networks
• methods and intelligent laser systems for synthesis of three-dimensional
objects of complex layouts by computer models and tomographic data,
including systems for laser stereolithography
• methods and systems for adaptive optics to
solve problems of information processing, control of technological processes
of materials treatment
Lasers in biomedicine
• laser systems for transmyocardial revascularization;biocompatible
coatings for stomatology and orthopaedics; controlled changing of cartilaginous
tissue shape
• optics-information methods of investigation of biological objects
(molecules, cells, organs, organisms)
• laser technologies and systems for micro- and optoelectronics, laser
ecological control; fiber light guides and instruments for laser therapy
and biomedical optics.
